This two-volume in-depth study of the institution's 229 Dutch paintings from 1600 to 1800 was written by Walter Liedtke, Curator of European Paintings. The authoritative text was published to coincide with The Age of Rembrandt: Dutch Paintings in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, a landmark special exhibition from September 18, 2007 to January 6, 2008.
